Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam was born on 15 October 1931 in Rameswaram, Tamil Nadu, into a poor but honorable family. From a very young age, he supported his education by selling newspapers.
His deep interest in science and learning led him to study aerospace engineering, and he later joined ISRO and DRDO, where he played a key role in India’s missile and space programs.
Because of his immense contribution to defense and space technology, he earned the title Missile Man of India. In 2002, he became the 11th President of India and was widely loved as the People’s President.
